While this piece is one of oldest, it still brings me the most pride every time I revisit it. This was the second story I ever wrote as a staff reporter my freshman year of high school. Though I was terrified to interview a prominent author and attend a staff-in service day where he presented and only teachers and administrators were present, I pushed through the day with my camera and notebook. By the end of the experience, I had had a wonderful time reporting and observing his keynote speech. I look back on this moment as one of the first times I felt like a journalist.
